Scrap the cap
The 1% cap on nursing pay is putting patient care in the NHS at risk.
The pay cap is forcing nursing staff out of the job they love, leaving not enough staff to care for patients.
Staff who stay have experienced a real-terms pay cut of 14% since 2010. They are overstretched and undervalued.
This summer, RCN members across the UK are protesting to scrap the cap.
Please write to your MP, asking them to support the campaign, and to call on the Chancellor to scrap the cap in the Budget this autumn.
You should include information about how the pay cap has affected you and your family, and your ability to do your job.
Please note, we are currently collecting emails from members and will forward your message to your MP at the end of the Summer of Protest.
